I need to rebuild the search results page. Currently, I’m using WordPress’s default search bar, but I’ve optimized the results with the Relevanssi plugin, which improves indexing and supports Custom Post Types. I’ve started working on new template ideas to replace the default search page and display results across all CPTs in a meaningful way. This involves using a combination of narrative grids and CPT-specific layouts that adapt to featured images or icons. The design must handle any combination of results—from one CPT type to all types having ten results each—while maintaining consistency and readability. I’ll create enough dummy CPTs to test edge cases and ensure pagination works for large result sets.
