I need to consider the best long-term strategy for the quote library. While it’s currently focused on book quotes, there are also quotes from other sources—similar to how the lyrics CPT will function. Quotes and lyrics will likely share many of the same fields and code, but quotes are a bit different. For quotes not tied to books, I still need to show the source, especially for the footnote system. I may be able to leverage that existing footnote metadata and possibly generate dedicated source pages when needed. Quotes should always link to the book they came from and the source profile, but also connect to relevant themes. I also need to consider how to display quotes on books that have a large number of them. For some books, the quote collection might be so extensive that a graphic-heavy design becomes overwhelming, while pure text might raise plagiarism concerns. The challenge is to find a solution that feels fair, engaging, and respectful of copyright—especially since the most quoted books often serve as the best promotion for themselves. I haven’t figured out the ideal approach yet, but I will as the system evolves.
