Completed: This may be re-visited in the future. Migrating to a new theme is a major undertaking. I would rather focus on content creation, especially since Author is a pretty minimalist theme.
This task outlines a future return to the theme migration project. The goal is to use LocalWP and UpdraftPlus to create a complete sandbox of the live site, allowing for safe testing of alternative lightweight parent themes such as GeneratePress and Kadence. The process will involve gradually recreating the child theme and ensuring compatibility with all CPT templates, navigation layouts, and display logic. The focus will be on building a faster, cleaner, and more maintainable foundation while preserving the site’s existing design integrity and creative framework.
