Semantic Taxonomy Architecture + AI-Assisted Topic Tagging System

The site’s evolving content architecture increasingly depends on semantic discoverability rather than traditional post indexing. Current tools successfully support top-down search-driven tagging and batch taxonomy assignment, but a growing backlog of newly imported content has revealed the need for a second workflow focused on intake tagging and semantic anchoring. Future development should establish a hybrid system that combines manual curation, search/export tooling, AI-assisted topic suggestion, and batch taxonomy application. The primary focus should remain on stable “Topic” taxonomies as the core navigational layer, while more poetic or interpretive “Theme” taxonomies remain optional enrichment layers. Future work may include controlled vocabulary analysis, taxonomy normalization, semantic overlap cleanup, AI-generated tagging directives, lightweight import/export formats for WP-CLI integration, and tools that convert high-value search concepts into permanent navigable taxonomy structures.
