The Footnotes Engine v2 replaces individual field lookups with a unified reference context assembled by the collector system. Each footnote renderer becomes responsible only for displaying data, while inheritance, relationship expansion, and content discovery occur in a centralized location. Completing the migration will significantly reduce duplicated code and simplify future enhancements.
